COACHING

At Surfskate Noosa, we help surfers and surfskaters of all levels get better, faster. Every session starts with a nervous system-first approach - building safety, muscle memory, and flow in our purpose-built surfskate bowl before taking it into the water.

All sessions use premium surfskates and safety gear, led by expert coach, Ryan Mayne, in Noosa.

FAQS

What’s the difference between private, group, and workshop coaching?

Private coaching is fully personalised and tailored to your goals. Group coaching is for surfers who already have some experience and are ready to refine skills in a shared environment. Workshops are more intensive sessions that combine land and water coaching to fast-track specific improvements.

Do I need surfing experience to start coaching?

No experience is needed to start, but complete beginners usually begin with private coaching first. This is because it allows us to build the right foundations at your pace before joining group sessions where everyone is already working on active skills.

Are your coaching sessions in the ocean or on land?

Both. We combine surfskate training on land with in-water coaching so you can build movement patterns in a controlled environment and then apply them in real conditions. This is a big part of why Ryan’s coaching method is so effective — you’re not trying to learn everything in unpredictable waves, you’re building it step by step so it actually sticks.

What’s the fastest way to improve surfing technique?

The fastest way is combining repetition, feedback, and the right environment. Surfskate training helps you build correct movement patterns on land, and surf coaching helps you apply them in the ocean under real conditions. Together, it speeds up learning and reduces the trial-and-error phase.

What's your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel a booked session, let us know as soon as you can by phone or email (details on our website).

Cancelling more than 24 hours before your session: you can choose a full refund or a credit toward a future session.

Cancelling within 24 hours of your session: the full session fee may be forfeited, unless exceptional circumstances apply.

If we cancel: we may need to cancel or postpone a session due to unsafe weather or surf conditions, coach illness or injury, or other unforeseen circumstances. If that happens, you can choose a full refund or reschedule at no extra cost.
